Adding an arbor or a lattice feature to your backyard landscape is easy!
An Arbor is a really easy DIY project that only takes an hour or so to set up. Arbors add architectural detail and interest to your yard. Plant climbing roses or other climbing vine type plants in front of the arbor and they'll climb and wind their way up the structure.
Take a look at some of our selections below.

New Custom Configurator
I have just completed two new tools for the Pergola-Patio.com website. These tools are the first in a series of custom configuration items that allow you to design your own style and size from all the options available.
If you are in the market for a standard pergola (single run headers and rafters, classic look) start with the Custom Configuration tool. It starts by using an 8'x8' (64 square foot) pergola with a base price. The base price always includes all the posts, brackets, end caps, touch-up paint, caulk, screws, etc. that you need to assemble your pergola. With the base price on the 8'x8' the correct amount and sizes of headers, rafters and lattice are all included, pre-cut with your choice of end-style cuts already completed for you. The base price also includes the truck shipping cost.
This configuration tool allows you to scale your size from the base size up to 16'x16' and any combination in between in one foot increments. Next, you choose your end-style and color preference. You can also choose to leave the posts plain by leaving the side plates off of your pergola. Ideal if you are adding your own columns. You won't find anything like it anywhere on the internet.
A second Custom Configuration tool premiers a new style available at Pergola-Patio.com. This style has twin Headers and twin rafters which leads to a more Roman style and looks very stylish and adds a lot of interest to your patio. This style is ideal for adding your own custom columns available at most building supply stores/home improvement stores.
These new tools are first in a series of custom options available at Pergola-Patio.com. Next will be custom tools for larger projects over 16'x16' in both styles and then the same option for Attached Pergolas.

Do you Install Pergolas?
Pergola-Patio is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) site that sells throughout the 48 contiguous United States. We do not have an installation service. This website is the internet/online division of All-Tex Exteriors.
If you live in the Houston, Austin or San Antonio areas, I would refer you to our sister company All-Tex Exteriors. All-Tex has designers and installers that come to your home or business, design your dream pergola then come back with the installers and materials needed. It is a turnkey Pergola business that offers many other services.

Do you sell Wood Pergolas?
I have been asked that question many times. I enjoy the look of a wooden pergola as much as the next guy but, they are just too much hassle.
Consider these points:
-Wood is Heavy. The cost of shipping is more!
-Wood will rot. I'd rather sell you something that will last a liftime!
-Wood needs periodic painting or staining. Aluminum has a baked on enamel with a lifetime guarantee.
Aluminum beats wood hands down. It lasts longer, requires no maintenance, is lighter and easier to ship and can't rot or be eaten up by termites.
I am sure you will be 100% satisfied.

How much overhang should I have on my Pergola?
Since our Pergolas are not pre-drilled (they come with really slick self drilling screws) you have a little flexibility here.
Say you are setting up a 16' x 18' Free Standing Pergola. 16' by 18' will be the overall dimension and specifically, the 16' dimension is for the 2" by 6.5" Rafters and the 18' is for the 3" by 8" headers/beams and the 2" x 2" lattice slats for the top.
Depending on the style of your end cuts (bevel, scalloped, corbel or mitered) you will have a minimum distance that you will be able to set your posts back. Besides a minimum predicated on the end style, the average set back for the posts is from 12" to 18". I prefer the look of an 18" overhang: it seems just right to me.
So for a 16' by 16' overall measurement pergola, the posts will be inset 18" from the corners. Your posts will form the inside dimension of 13' (16' minus 18" on each side) by 15' (18' minus 18" on each end). This will give you the 18" that you are after. Again, you have flexibility here since the holes are not pre-drilled.

How does an Attached Pergola Attach to the wall?
Our attached Pergolas are attached to the wall in one of two common ways.
Your pergola will ship with brackets that attached directly to the wall or directly to the fascia of your home. The 2" by 6.5" rafters will then go on over the brackets (hiding them) and then screws are driven into the bracket from the outside surface of the rafter.
A second option is to attach a ledger or header first to the wall. Our clients have the choice of using a 2" by 6.5" rafter as the ledger or use a 3" by 8" header as the ledger. Just specify your preference for the look you are after.
All of our hex head screws are self tapping. Just line them up where you want them and drive them in with your power driver. They will drill through and then fasten to the bracket. They are also color matched to the color of your kit.
